There are many types of transformer skeletons. Different types of transformer accessories have different characteristics.

They can be classified from many aspects.

1、 Classified by cooling method:

(1) Dry type transformer skeleton: It relies on air convection for cooling and is generally used for small capacity transformer skeletons such as local lighting and electronic circuits.

(2) Oil immersed transformer framework: relying on oil as the cooling medium, such as oil immersed self cooling, oil immersed air cooling, oil immersed water cooling, forced oil circulation, etc.

2、 Classified by iron core form:

(1) Core type transformer skeleton: used for high-voltage power transformers.

(2) Amorphous alloy transformer skeleton: Amorphous alloy iron core transformers are made of new magnetic materials, which reduce the no-load current by about 80%. They are currently the distribution transformers with ideal energy-saving effects, especially suitable for rural power grids and developing areas with low load rates.

(3) Shell type transformer skeleton: used for special transformers with high currents, such as furnace transformers and welding transformers; Or used as a power transformer skeleton for electronic instruments, televisions, radios, etc.

3、 Classified by purpose:

(1) Power transformer skeleton: used for voltage rise and fall in transmission and distribution systems.

(2) Instrument transformer skeleton: such as voltage transformers, current transformers, used for measuring instruments and relay protection devices.

(3) Test transformer skeleton: capable of generating high voltage and conducting high voltage tests on electrical equipment.

(4) Special transformer skeleton: such as electric furnace transformer, rectifier transformer, adjustment transformer, etc.

4、 Divided by phase number:

(1) Single phase transformer skeleton: used for single-phase loads and three-phase transformer groups.

(2) Three phase transformer skeleton: used for voltage rise and fall in three-phase systems.

5、 Classified by winding form:

(1) Dual winding transformer skeleton: used to connect two voltage levels in the power system.

(2) Three winding transformer skeleton: generally used in power system regional substations, connecting three voltage levels.

(3) Autotransformer skeleton: used to connect power systems with different voltages. It can also serve as a regular transformer skeleton for boosting or lowering.
